Keep Kidney Clean

Mass perception of kidney function is not acceptable; rather it is a little confusing. People think that the Kidneys act as a sieve to separate excrement and help the body function properly. And it only controls the exertion of excess water and wastes material from the body. Here, however, it is appropriate to mention that this is not the only work of Ledvina, in addition to the aforementioned function, it also fulfills the following:

1. Vitamin D, which plays a vital role in strengthening our bones, is produced by the kidneys.

2. It also produces the hormone Erythropoietin, which helps in blood formation.

3. The kidneys produce a hormone called Renin, which regulates blood pressure in the body.

4. The kidneys also help maintain the balance between water and salts in the body.

5. Remnants of drugs consumed by us are also excreted from the body by the kidneys.

From the removed facts, the kidneys are one of the vital organs of the body and they help in the proper well-being of the body by performing their numerous functions in proper harmony.

Such an important organ that performs so many vital functions requires proper care; otherwise, all or some of the above functions may be impaired, causing serious illness and even death.

Unfortunately, outside of developed cities, most people living in suburbs and villages around the world do not receive proper treatment when needed for the following reasons:

Reasons:-

1. Treatment generally involves huge expenses that ordinary people cannot afford to pay.

2. Lack of nephrologists in rural and suburban areas to combat rising cases of kidney disease.

3. The combined effect of all the above reasons coupled with the ignorance and carelessness of the affected person will make the disease to be suppressed or less treated for a long time and finally make the disease incurable.

There are two types of kidney failure.

a) Sudden or acute kidney failure, which usually recovers after some treatment.

b) Chronic failure that occurs over some time as a result of one or more associated diseases that have not been properly cared for and have therefore left the impression that the kidneys are not functioning.

Common causes of kidney failure are listed below:-

1. Malaria, a common disease spread by mosquito bites, affects kidney function

2. Any type of infection.

3. Illness related to dysentery

4. A Stone in the Kidney also leads to its failure.

Medicine:-

Sudden or acute kidney failure can sometimes be cured with the right treatment. However, chronic failure rarely responds to conventional treatment and often requires surgery to remove the disease. Depending on the degree of damage, the course of treatment or surgery will be determined. In kidney failure, the common treatment is provided by dialysis to bring relief to the patient. Removal of one kidney sometimes cures the patient and he can lead a normal life with the rest. But in case of complete damage of both kidneys, there may be no other alternative than a kidney transplant which requires the best medical care and outflow of huge money which sometimes remains beyond the reach of common people.

Prevention is better than prevention:

The two main factors that can be attributed to kidney failure are high blood pressure and diabetes. These two diseases need to be controlled to reduce the chances of kidney infection. Therefore, people should live on vegetables and non-vegetarians should switch to vegetables. Proteins, especially animal proteins, take care of the accumulation of calcium, uric acid, and oxalates in the urine. These, in turn, increase the chance of kidney stone formation. So non-vegetarian diet should be avoided if possible.
