Do you suspect your co-workers are rolling their eyes when they hear you'll be gone again because 'your concussion is working? Want to convince them you're real but don't know how? Injury education is the best way to verify such suspicions.
1. Concussion is a heterogeneous injury
It is reported that about 80% of injuries are self-correcting, that is, they will resolve based on the general advice provided by our concussion specialists in the Toronto area; But 20% is more complicated. It can be caused by the mechanism of injury, the specific place you were - and didn't know - before the injury. This is something we can all relate to. Have you ever been in "the zone" and thought, "I've got it!"? This is because our physiology has an infinite number of potential states at any given moment, and some states are more useful than others. some more efficient and suitable for certain tasks. This is influenced by how well you slept, how you feel, your beliefs, your energy level, etc.; and that in turn affects hormone levels, your immune function, your concentration. These factors are a bit like the different colors in a Rubik's cube, so it's easy to see how a person can feel stuck at a certain point.
It's possible - it's more the rule than the exception - to suffer from post-concussion syndrome and perform quite well one day, but the next day you can't get out of bed. For reasons such as the examples above, a concussion patient's ability to perform well can be compromised by things as mundane as sinusitis, lack of sleep, headache, too much visual stimulation,
