This type of food slows digestion and can absorb impurities in the intestines and cause gas pockets there, especially if you have milk sensitivity.
Staying hydrated also helps digest food more than juices, sodas, and energy drinks. Also, regular hydration will prevent constipation.
Eat small, frequent meals (4-6X/day) as opposed to large, frequent (1-2X/day). Large meals and snacks prevent digestion. Do not eat on the run or when you are stressed or angry. Eat dreams.
Eat whole grains and cereals (unless you are sensitive to gluten), fresh fruits, and vegetables. Limit red meat and choose poultry or fish/seafood (if you know everything) about the size of your fist. An organic diet is preferred whenever possible.
Regular exercise, especially aerobic activity - oxygen is good for breaking down the intestines. As a bonus, regular exercise lowers hormone levels. Give yourself enough time after meals for vigorous activity, IBS flares up if you don't eat.
If you are a premenopausal woman, your IBS symptoms may be premenstrual or worsen. Pay attention to your eating, resting/sleeping habits during these times of the month.
Remember to decompress and decompress every day. An agitated and overstimulated nervous system can cause sudden diarrhea or constipation due to high levels of cortisol and epinephrine. Prolonged exposure to stress hormones disrupts regular bowel movements.
If you work in a high-stress job/career or live in a high-stress environment, you may want to consider changing your work and/or living arrangements. Chronic exposure to high levels of stress not only causes frequent or chronic IBS attacks but also affects other aspects of your health. You may be more susceptible to heart disease, stroke, and neurological disease. If you are a sensitive person (HSP) and an introvert like me, you are more vulnerable to stressful situations, so get plenty of rest and limit your exposure to stress.
